SOUPER BOWL LUNCHEON

It’s that time of year again! A Horizon favorite, we’ll be having our annual Souper Bowl Luncheon at the church after the Sunday Service on Jan 28. Nursery care for 4 years old and under will be provided. Bring your favorite soup or chili along with the following:

  • Last name A-L: salad, bread, or veggie tray
  • Last name M-Z: dessert

 

CONNECT – LEARNING TO GROW AND SERVE OTHERS AT HORIZON

New to Horizon or been here awhile, but wanting to figure out how to better connect?  You are invited to join us in Classroom C at 9:00 each week beginning Sunday, January 28.  We want to give you a chance to hear more about Horizon and for you to ask questions. EASTER CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Children’s Choir is moving from Wednesday to Sunday evenings, and will be resuming Feb 4, 6:30-7:15pm. Choir is for ages 3-11, and the performance will be during Palm Sunday ‘s (Mar 25) morning worship service.  

 

HYP WINTER RETREAT

The Jr. and Sr. High youth are headed to Ridge Haven Conference Center in Brevard, NC Feb 16-19 (Fri-Mon). If you missed the registration deadline, contact gordon@horizonchurch.orgASAP!

 

HYP SUMMER CAMPS

If your Middle School or High School student would like to go to camp with HYP this year, please email gordon@horizonchurch.org by Jan 21, as spots fill quickly! Middle School students will be headed to the EDGE Conference at Covenant College either Jun 18-22 or Jun 23-27. High School students will be at RYM High School Conference in Panama City Beach, FL, either Jul 2-6 or Jul 9-14. A roughly estimated cost for the camps is $500/student. As always, scholarships are available; if interested, ask Gordon about further instructions. WOMENS’ BIBLE STUDY

Wednesday mornings OR evenings at the church, 9:30-11:30am and 6:30-8pm. Childcare is provided for both groups, and homeschool monitoring for the morning group is available. Call the office to register today!

 

WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

The Gospel Coalition Women’s Conference is June 14-16 in Indianapolis. Horizon gets a group discount when registering with the code HORIZONGREENVILLE. Contact Mia Rose with questions at arose1830@gmail.com.

 

AVENGERS DAY CAMP

Our popular Avengers Day Camp is coming back to Horizon! Mark your calendars and black out these dates now: June 11-14, 2018, from 9:30am-12pm. We can’t wait to see you there!

 

If you’d like to join the Avengers team this year, please email Brian at brian@horizonchurch.org and let him know which of the Avengers or villains you might be interested in playing. We are beginning to assemble our team now.

 

SPANISH AND ESL CLASSES

Fully staffed classes resume January 9th! Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm. Childcare is available. Check out the fliers at the Information Counter in the church sanctuary and spread the word!

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Making Sense of God (Alvin Sell) – Reading and discussing Making Sense of God, by Tim Keller, in order to be better prepared to answer honest objections to Christianity.  We’ll also learn how to show others that many of their strongest values are rooted in the Christian world view. We meet in Classroom A at 9 am.

 

The Gospel of Matthew (Ralph Bass) – Join us for an in-depth look at this foundational account of Jesus’ ministry, examining his extraordinary life and message. We meet in Classroom B at 9 am.

 

PRAYER ON SUNDAY MORNING

Drop in Classroom C at 9 am or anytime following as we pray for the needs of the congregation, the community around us, personal concerns, Sunday School, and the morning worship service.
